Collectibles
Nanyang Academy of Fine Arts
My graduating class wanted to get industry experts excited about our graduation show.
How could we get the industry excited enough to attend?
We advertised graduates as collectible action figures. The figures we created were representative of all the characteristics of their respective departments. Hallmarks of school life, our art specialties and of course, inside jokes were all incorporated into the figures to make for a relatable and cherishable object.
The theme was a hit with students. For so many years the graduation show theme centered around an art style that wasn't inclusive of every department. Graduates were elated to finally be able to headline the show in their own way, representing themselves both as individuals and as part of a collective.
Our initial pitch required us to do a last minute shoot. So we gathered a student from every course to represent their graduating class.
The branding was extended beyond just the yearbooks. We created extensive material to support the show, from stickers, to augmented reality filters, to zoom backgrounds.
We developed characters to be representative of students in their respective departments.
Here, you can have a look into the original proposal, which my team and I had a very fun time creating.
